The sum of the forces at the point where the three cables meet is equal to zero. Since both cable angles are the same, the tension on the left cable and the right cable are equal.

1.) Take the sum of the vertical components and set them equal to zero. Knowing both triangles are right triangles, the other angles of the triangle are 90 degrees and 40 degrees.

2Tsin40°-mg=0

2.) Solve for T

T=mg2sin40°=(120)(9.81)2sin(40°)=915.7 N
